Understand Your Total Before You Pay

A clear explanation of how taxes, import duties, shipping costs, and other applicable charges may be added to your order.

When buying vehicle parts through our marketplace, the final amount may include more than the listed product price. Depending on the buyer’s location, the seller’s location, the type of part being purchased, and the delivery method, taxes, customs duties, shipping fees, or other applicable charges may be added.

We aim to display all known charges clearly during checkout so you can review the complete order total before making payment. Where a charge cannot be calculated in advance, such as certain import duties collected by local customs authorities, this will be explained as clearly as possible before your order is placed.

The amount shown at checkout is based on the information available at the time of purchase, including your delivery address and selected shipping option.

Simple process

How Your Checkout Total Is Calculated

Your total is calculated using your order details, delivery location, and the charges that apply to the transaction.

  1. Step one

    Product Price

The calculation starts with the price set by the seller for the selected vehicle part. Any available discount or promotional offer is applied before the final total is calculated.

  2. Step two

    Delivery Details

Your delivery address helps determine available shipping methods, delivery costs, regional taxes, and whether the order may cross an international border.

  3. Step three

    Applicable Charges

Depending on the order, the checkout may include sales tax, value-added tax, shipping charges, service fees, customs duties, or other charges required by the relevant authorities.

  4. Step four

    Final Review

Before payment, you will see an order summary showing the product price and all charges that can be calculated by the platform. Review this information carefully before confirming your purchase.

Charges That May Appear at Checkout

Not every charge applies to every order. The charges shown depend on the product, seller, buyer, shipping method, and destination.

Product Price

This is the price set by the seller for the vehicle part. The price may vary according to the part’s condition, brand, compatibility, availability, or included accessories.

Sales Tax or VAT

Sales tax, VAT, GST, or a similar local tax may be added where required. The rate may depend on the buyer’s delivery address, the seller’s location, and the tax rules that apply to the transaction.

Shipping Charges

Shipping costs are based on the selected delivery method, package dimensions, product weight, destination, and carrier rates. Larger items such as engines, body panels, wheels, and transmissions may have higher delivery costs.

Customs Duties

Orders shipped across international borders may be subject to customs duties or import charges. These charges are normally determined by the destination country, the declared value, and the product classification.

Marketplace or Service Fees

Where applicable, a service or transaction fee may be charged for services provided through the platform. Any such fee will be clearly identified during checkout before payment.

Additional Handling Charges

Some heavy, oversized, fragile, hazardous, or specially packaged vehicle parts may require an additional handling charge. Where known, this amount will be shown separately in the order summary.

Taxes and Import Duties Are Not Always the Same

The charges applied by the marketplace may be different from charges collected by a customs authority or delivery company.

Taxes such as sales tax, VAT, or GST are generally linked to the sale of the product. When the platform is required or able to calculate these taxes, they may be included directly in the checkout total.

Customs duties and import charges usually apply when a vehicle part is shipped from one country to another. These charges may be based on the item’s declared value, country of origin, product category, and the destination country’s import rules.

In some cases, import charges can be estimated or collected during checkout. In other cases, the buyer may need to pay them directly to the courier, postal service, or customs authority before delivery.

Unless the checkout clearly states that duties are included, buyers should not assume that the amount paid on the platform covers every possible customs or import charge.

Who Is Responsible for What?

Accurate order information helps us calculate charges correctly and reduces delays after purchase.

For Buyers

Enter a complete and accurate delivery address before reviewing the checkout total. Taxes and delivery charges may change when the destination changes.

Review every line in the order summary, including the product price, shipping fee, tax, service fee, and any notice about customs duties.

For international purchases, check whether additional import charges may be payable when the item reaches your country.

Avoid asking sellers to declare an incorrect product value or describe a vehicle part inaccurately. False customs information can cause delays, additional charges, seizure of the shipment, or cancellation of the order.

For Sellers

Provide accurate product prices, item descriptions, locations, weights, dimensions, and shipping information.

Clearly state whether the product price includes any local tax and whether international shipping is available.

Use accurate customs descriptions and declared values when completing shipping documents.

Do not advertise a charge as included unless it is genuinely included in the buyer’s payment.

Where required, sellers remain responsible for meeting their own tax, invoicing, reporting, and registration obligations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about taxes, duties, shipping charges, and the total shown during checkout.

Why did the total change after I entered my address?

Your delivery address may affect the tax rate, available shipping methods, delivery cost, and whether the order is treated as a domestic or international shipment.

Are taxes included in the product price?

This depends on the seller, the transaction, and the applicable tax rules. Any tax calculated separately by the platform will be displayed as a separate line during checkout.

Are customs duties included in my payment?

Only when the checkout or order summary clearly states that duties are included. Otherwise, customs duties or import charges may be collected separately by the courier or relevant authority.

Who pays import duties?

Unless otherwise stated during checkout, the buyer is generally responsible for duties, taxes, and import charges applied by the destination country.

Can the final customs charge be different from an estimate?

Yes. Customs authorities may calculate the final amount using their own valuation, exchange rate, classification, or local rules. An amount shown by the marketplace may therefore be an estimate unless it is specifically confirmed as prepaid.

Why is shipping expensive for some vehicle parts?

Automotive parts can be heavy, oversized, fragile, or difficult to package. The shipping amount may reflect the item’s weight, size, handling requirements, distance, and carrier charges.

Will I see all charges before payment?

We display all charges that can be calculated through the platform before payment. Certain third-party charges, particularly customs or import fees, may not be known until the shipment reaches the destination country.

Can taxes or fees be refunded when an order is cancelled?

Refund eligibility depends on the order status, payment status, seller policy, marketplace policy, and the rules of the authority or service provider that collected the charge. Some shipping, processing, customs, or administrative charges may not be refundable.

What should I do if a checkout charge looks incorrect?

Do not complete the payment until you have checked the delivery address, selected shipping method, quantity, and order details. If the amount still appears incorrect, contact support with a screenshot of the checkout summary.

Does the marketplace provide tax advice?

No. Information provided on the platform is for general guidance and does not replace professional tax, customs, or legal advice. Buyers and sellers should seek independent advice where necessary.
