Prohibited Items Policy

Products must be legal, authentic, safe, and accurately represented before they can be listed on Car Parts Marketplace.

Prohibited Items and Listing Restrictions

Car Parts Marketplace supports the sale of new, used, imported, refurbished, and replacement automotive parts across categories such as engines, electrical systems, brakes, fuel systems, safety equipment, and vehicle electronics.

To protect buyers, sellers, and the marketplace, the following products must not be listed, sold, promoted, or supplied through the Platform.

Illegal or Stolen Items

Products that are stolen, unlawfully obtained, illegally imported, or prohibited by applicable law are not allowed. Sellers must have the legal right to sell every product they list.

Counterfeit or Misrepresented Parts

Fake, copied, falsely branded, or counterfeit parts are prohibited. Sellers must not use another manufacturer’s branding, packaging, serial number, or part number in a misleading way.

Parts must also not be described as genuine OEM, new, tested, certified, rebuilt, or compatible unless the seller can support that claim.

Unsafe, Damaged, or Recalled Products

Products that present a serious safety risk must not be sold. This includes severely damaged parts, items affected by an unresolved manufacturer recall, and components that are no longer safe for normal vehicle use.

Damage, wear, missing components, previous repairs, and product condition must always be clearly disclosed.

Hazardous or Restricted Products

Hazardous products may not be listed where their sale, storage, or shipment would violate legal or carrier requirements. This may include leaking batteries, fuel, oils, pressurized containers, chemicals, deployed airbags, pyrotechnic safety devices, or contaminated components.

Restricted products may only be listed where the seller has the required authorization and can comply with all packaging, labeling, storage, and shipping requirements.

Vehicle Identity and Security Items

The following items are prohibited where they could support theft, fraud, or unlawful vehicle modification:

  • Altered or removed vehicle identification plates
  • Fake ownership or registration documents
  • Devices intended to unlawfully change vehicle mileage
  • Stolen keys, security modules, or immobilizer systems
  • Tools designed primarily to bypass vehicle security
  • Products with removed or altered serial numbers

Emissions and Safety Bypass Products

Products primarily intended to unlawfully disable, bypass, or interfere with vehicle emissions, braking, steering, airbag, odometer, or safety systems must not be listed.

Misleading or Incomplete Listings

Listings are prohibited when they contain false compatibility details, hidden damage, incorrect photographs, misleading prices, unavailable stock, or descriptions that do not match the actual product.

Enforcement

Car Parts Marketplace may review, reject, hide, suspend, or permanently remove any listing that violates this Policy. Seller accounts may also be restricted or closed for repeated violations, fraud, unsafe products, or failure to provide proof of ownership or authenticity.

Where necessary, we may hold related payments, cancel orders, issue refunds, preserve transaction records, or report suspicious activity to payment providers or lawful authorities. The marketplace already maintains product, order, payment, dispute, and seller-verification records to support these reviews.

Sellers who are unsure whether a product is permitted should contact Marketplace Support before publishing the listing.
